FOTD: Pop of Lilac

This is just a quick look I've been doing everyday to spice up my everyday neutral eye. Spring is right around the corner and I've been so inspired with all the pastel shades of makeup, clothes, nail polish, etc. (They've always been my favorite!) Adding this pop of Lilac also makes my brown eyes pop!

January Favorites!

I cannot believe where the time has gone! I feel like New Year's Eve was just yesterday and now we're already entering February! Crazy.
Anyways, as you all know, the end of the month brings about a post about the products I've been loving for the past month. I'm really excited about this months favorites because I've discovered some really great products that have made their way into my everyday routine.

Face & Cheeks
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle- I've mentioned this in a favorites before because it's my Go-To highlighting powder. In the winter, my skin tends to look a bit dull. I've been using this to counteract that and it works wonders.

MAC Blush in Blunt- I don't know if you guys know this, but I LOVE contouring. You gotta do whatcha gotta do when you've got chubby cheeks, I suppose :) This shade looks a bit intimidating in the pan, because it's a super dark brown, but with a light hand to cast some really great shadows.

MAC Blush in Melba- I think it's safe to say, this is probably one of my favorite blushes EVER. It's a matte peachy-pink shade that looks great on people with olive tones to their skin. This is actually my second pan of it- I lost it last year, was lost without it, so I had to get it again.

Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles- I won't say much about this, because I will be posting a review on this product sometime this week, but let's just say it's my favorite concealer by FAR. I've never seen my under-eye area so concealed before in my life- until I found this.

Eyes
MAC Crushed Metallic Pigment in Pearl- I got this in a set of 4 pigments in one of the MAC Holiday gift sets and I am IN LOVE with it. I love frosty white shades for the lid and this one is just beyond beautiful. I literally feel like I'm wearing snow on my eyelids every time I wear this and I love it.

MAC Eyeshadow in Quarry- One of my favorite makeup techniques is using a transition color in my crease to recede the hood of my eyelid. My go-to transition shade was Wedge e/s, but I've been using this shade instead lately. It's difficult to explain the shade, but it's like a mauve-y, grey, and brown all in one and I really like the way it looks instead of just plain brown.

MAC Eyeshadow in Brun- Just a basic neutral dark brown. Not much to say, just a great go-to outer-V shade. One of my favorite browns besides Mystery and Embark.

Covergirl Lash Perfection Mascara- Again, I won't say much about this because a review will be posted this week, but I love this mascara. It does a great job at separating and lengthening. Best mascara I've tried in a while!

(l to r) Pearl Crushed Metallic Pigment, Quarry, Brun
note- Quarry is not this dark on the eyes- it is heavily swatched here!

Lips/ Misc.
MAC Lipstick in Honeylove- This is one of my favorite lipsticks of life and it's pretty much been my go-to nude shade since the middle of 2011, so this isn't just a monthly favorite. It's a medium-toned nude with a rose-y undertone. I definitely recommend this for anyone who wants a nude lip without it looking too pale.

MAC Lipglass in Frozen Lame`- I also got this lipglass in a holiday set. I've never owned a silver lipgloss before, so I didn't really know how to use this. Turns out, it looks amazing over nude lips and I've been using this over Honeylove everyday. It gives it a little something extra.

Wild N' Wild MegaLast Nail Polish in Sugar Coat- My favorite nail polishes to wear are pastel shades and I absolutely love pale pinks and nudes- they look so simple and sophisticated. I included this because not only do I love wearing it, but I am EXTREMELY impressed with the quality of this nail polish in particular. Almost every time I have tried a nail polish this shade, it streaks and looks awful. This was so creamy and went on completely even. In love!

True Blue Spa Shae Cashmere and Silk Hand Creme- My hands have been so dry because of the cold weather and I don't know about you guys, but I hate that tight, chalky feeling of dry hands, so this has been a life saver. It makes your hands feel like straight up butter and it smells SO good. Does anyone remember those Christmas cookies- the almond crescent ones? Smells EXACTLY like that, yumm :)

Hope you guys enjoyed this! Let me know in the comments what you guys loved for the month of January! :)

September Favorites!

MAC Warm Soul Blush- This is the blush that I wear almost every single day, because it is so natural and versatile. It's a shimmery, peachy bronze mineralized blush that gives a sun-kissed glow to your cheeks. It goes well with any kind of eye look, blues, purples, neutrals, smokey eyes, you name it- which is why I love it.

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer- I stopped using this concealer for awhile because it was too light for me, but recently I rediscovered it, and though it is still too light for me, I put it under my eyes before foundation and just apply my foundation over that for more coverage and so it matches my skin. This is a full coverage concealer. It's so creamy and blend-able.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- I've been trying not to splurge on my usual MAC powders lately, (I switch between MSF Natural, Studio Fix, and Careblend because I love them all) since I feel like I go through powders so quick, that paying almost $30 is too much to keep repurchasing every two months. So I've been trying to find a good drugstore powder. This one was about $4 and I absolutely love it. It definitely keeps me matte for the entire day whereas with MAC powders, I touched up 1-2 daily. This also comes with 4 grams more products than a Careblend powder, for reference, and for a fraction of the price, so it's a steal :)

Boots7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation- I won't say much about this, because I have a review on it. Click here to see it. I just had to include this though, because it still amazes me how good this makes my skin look and how well this combats my oily skin.

Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey- I'm really picky when it comes to chap sticks. The smell and taste of them tends to get to me after awhile, no matter how much I loved it at first. The smell of this is pretty natural and I don't get tired of it. The chapstick itself is kinda thick, but extremely moisturizing.

MAC Viva Glam V- This is another rediscovered product. Hadn't used this in months and found it when looking through my lip collection for fall lipsticks to wear. I've been wearing this constantly with neutral and bronzy shades on my eyes and it plays well with them.

Inglot Eyeshadows in Matte 318 and Pearl 435- These are both stark white shades, one being matte and one being shimmery. I alternate the two as a lid shade. I literally use them almost every day too. For some, a stark white would be too harsh to use, but I have hooded eyes that are brown and it really makes my eyelid stand out and makes my brown eyes pop. Also, when blending it together with other colors, it really doesn't look that stark. It leans more of a creamy-off-white when combined with other shades in the crease and outer corner.

Favorite lip combo of the month:
NYX Lipliner in Nude Beige, MAC Honeylove, and NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Sugar Pie-
Together these make the perfect nude lip. The lipliner and lipstick are literally the EXACT same color, no differences at all. They are also darker than your average pale nude like MAC's Creme D'Nude or Myth, so it doesn't wash you out. The lipstick is light so it goes well with the darker nudes.
