Former X Factor contestant Kerry McGregor who came in ninth place on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2006 reportedly died at age 37 at her home in Pumpherston, West Lothian after a battle with bladder cancer on January 4, 2012. The 37-year-old Scots star that performed in a wheelchair as a result of an accident when she was younger, appeared on the third series of the reality show in 2006. The poor singer was eliminated in the third week of the live shows along with Dionne Mitchell. She had battled the disease since 2009 and endured months of chemotherapy. The bad news of Kerry McGregor’s death had been broken by her manager Ewen Gallacher who shared: “It is with deep sadness we announce that Kerry passed away at home following a battle with cancer.” In addition, X Factor judge Simon Cowell also paid tribute to singer Kerry McGregor. On his Twitter page, he wrote: “I just heard the sad news about Kerry McGregor. I really admired Kerry and my thoughts now go out to all of her family and friends.” Sharon Osbourne, who was on the X Factor judging panel when Kerry was a contestant, also sent her thoughts out to the family: “So sad about Kerry McGregor’s passing. Much love and respect to her and her family.”

At the home they shared in Pumpherston, West Lothian, Dean Robertson spoke: “Kerry, as a person, was solid as a rock. She will be missed by so many people.”
