R. Kelly Performing on Caribbean Cruise

R. Kelly is one of those people that are hard to keep up with. One minute he’s playing with underage girls, the next he’s making music for the grown and sexy. Now he’s doing something completely unexpected. No surprise there.

...dubbed the "Love Letter Cruise" Fans will have the chance to join the singer on board as the cruise sets sail from Miami and tours through the Caribbean in October 2012.

The concert promises to present a "fabulous performance, never before seen at sea". Kelly, has also said he'll be bringing along "special guest artists" for the trip.

It'll also offers passengers food, aerobics classes and pampering treatments.

Earlier this summer the R&B star vowed he would return after he recovered from emergency throat surger in mid-July to have an abscess on one of his tonsils removed.

"I want to say thanks to all the prayer warriors out there for supporting me. And praying for me," he told fans at the time.

R. Kelly is known for tracks like Vibe, I Believe I Can Fly and Ignition.

The three-time Grammy award winner has also written tracks for a host of artists including Michael & Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Usher and Britney Spears.

The singer will be wooing ladies probably right out of their bikinis while on the ocean to who knows where. (Can we say that?!)

The R. Kelly cruise will leave Miami on Oct. 1 next year and will make stops in Grand Turk and several spots in the Bahamas.

Janet Jackson Not Attending Michael Jackson Tribute Concert ...

*Janet Jackson said Monday she will not attend a scheduled tribute concert for her late older brother Michael in Wales because the show coincides with the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is charged in the King of Pop’s death.

The singer’s one-sentence statement to The Associated Press does not criticize the show, as her brothers Jermaine and Randy have done, but cites the court case as her reason for not attending.
“Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me,” read her statement, which was released on what would have been Micahels 53rd birthday.

The show is scheduled for Oct. 8 in Cardiff, Wales, and the singer’s mother, Katherine, and some of her children are scheduled to attend.

Organizers of “Michael Forever — The Tribute Concert” have struggled to line up top-name acts and have been criticized by fans and the late singer’s estate for multiple reasons, including its costly tickets, timing and remote location. Fan groups from around the world have called on organizers to cancel the show.

Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green and a videotaped performance from Beyonce are the biggest bookings so far. Organizers had to rescind an offer to the band Kiss after fans and Michael Jackson’s estate noted that singer-bassist Gene Simmons had harshly criticized the pop singer over the years.

Opening statements in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray are scheduled to begin on Sept. 27. Murray, who has pleaded not guilty, could face up to four years in prison if convicted.

Authorities allege he gave Michael Jackson a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol and other sedatives in the bedroom of his rented mansion on June 25, 2009.

Jermaine and Randy Jackson issued a statement on the day the concert was announced, saying Murray’s trial took precedence over other events.

“There will come a time and place for an amazing and deserving tribute to Michael,” the brothers’ statement read. “But we feel that the most important tribute we can give to our brother at this time is to seek justice in his name.”

Janet Jackson to be Married!

Could iconic singer Janet Jackson be headed down the aisle for the third time?

*Finally!We think.

Janet Jackson has been dating her love, Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana, 36, since 2009, if you didn’t know. They’ve kept their relationship very private and became engaged last year.

Yes, that’s right, it was last year that Wissam is said to have popped the question, presenting the 45-year-old singer with a 15 carat diamond ring. On the other hand, if that’s true, Janet denied at the time.

At the time, she was preparing for her very intimate tour so could not focus on life decisions like marriage.

However, now that her show is wrapping up on September 1, she now feels ready for the big step.

“Now Janet’s telling friends that an official engagement will come by summer’s end, and that she and Wissam will marry in late 2011 – and they’re shopping for an even bigger diamond ring to celebrate their official engagement,” a source told National Enquirer magazine.

Janet’s first marriage was back in 1984 to R&b singer James DeBarge, but the union only lasted a year before it was annulled. Seven years later, she married music video director Rene Elizondo and the marriage lasted nine years.

Though she dated famed producer Jermaine Dupri for 7 years, the two never tied the knot and parted ways in 2009.

Back in November 2010, Janet told Access Hollywood that’s she’s been trying to settle down for quite some time:

“I’d love to have a family. But really, it’s in God’s hands. So, if it’s meant to be, I’ll have one. I hope it does.

That was a giant leap from her previous conversation with E! online in 2008. While dating Jermaine Dupri, she was on the fence as to whether or not she would ever get married again:

“The thing is, I don’t know if I ever will or won’t get married again. I’m very happy where I am. I just think I jinx marriages, but that’s not going to stop me from loving.”

If true, it may be time for JD to get that Janet tattoo covered.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
