Just a quick fly-by, check out Russell Brand's sheepskin jacket by Rick Owens Sheepskin Jacket (price not available). It looks cool to me; it has a high collar and asymmetrical front zipper--has a different, futuristic vibe about it. I would rock it...
Uhh.. I know this is supposed to be FASHION, but what's with the DUDE in my aunt's snakeskin boots??!
When I first saw these, my eyes were set ablaze, the stars were in my eyes, literally. Peep the new Givenchy sneakers that I believe will take the fashion world...and blogosphere...in popularity. I'm not sure if the Givenchy could set a new record and ever overtake the craze of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, or even more so LANVIN sneakers, but it could possibly be a contender.
The sneakers range from $500 to $740, maybe more for exotic skins. See more pics below...and set your eyes ablaze too!
Which one best fits your style? In my true opinion, these may be borderline, a hate-it-or-love-it kind of thing...
Remember that post I put up about Chris Brown's uggggggly boots...shoes... SHO-BOOTS... I still don't know what it is. But Chris Brown was spotted hosting a party in Decatur, Georgia wearing some appropriately loud hip-hop clothes. It's a good look on him. He was wearing TI$A cap and sneakers ($125).
I would wear it; I could...
Check out Chris Brown FAIL the other day with them boots...
Hey everyone, got a bunch of things on my agenda so I'm doing a couple of fly-bys today; I passed by UpscaleHype and found this: Check out Diddy wearing a nice, antiqued Maison Martin Margiela leather jacket ($2,195). Would you wear this and go ROCKER and BONKERS? :-)
Diddy is really feeling that '80s/early '90s vibe with the haircut he's showing off.
I know this is a fashion blog, but I couldn't resist lol. This is "Sesame Street's" parody of the "Old Spice" commercial. If you haven't seen it, check it out...
Well... it's still fashion...check out Grover in those...handsome shorts:
Check out this hott commodity your feet will be screaming for the Christmas. IT'S THE AIR JORDAN XIII RETRO 'ALTITUDE' IN BLACK/ALTITUDE GREEN!!! Retailed at just $160 (since it's exclusive), this will be a "run-for!!!" Look how the bottom gloo-oo-oowwwws. ILL!!!!!
From sea to shining sea, from Detroit and L.A. to London, Dubai (what? Yeah..), and Tokyo, you and your Jordans will be the talk of the town..
We know that in a world full of groupies (I'd call that Miami), many wives, fiances and girlfriends of professional athletes have to work extra hard to maintain their image and sexiness to appeal to their husbands. But not SAVANNAH, Lebron James' fiancee. She is dressed down, down, down-to-earth with a scarf and a nicely worn plaid shirt. Check her out:
I don't think SAVANNAH has to worry. With that delicious food that she cooks (and she really does cook), Lebron ain't ever leaving. That's a very good bet.
Quick and brief news: I was browsing the Internet and I came across this news source about Kanye West releasing his own fragrance, "so you can smell like him."
Makes you wonder what he smells like. THE OLD SPICE MAN?? I don't know, but anyway...
When I look at all of these celebrities releasing their fragrances, I wonder if they smell exactly like their fragrance (it's not a dumb thought; just plain curiosity) because some of the scents that I have smelled... stinks.
Kanye is presently working with Parlux Fragrances, a limited but renowned fragrance company which makes colognes and perfumes for many celebrities of late. He is also working with LANVIN for a high-end collaboration, which I'm sure will be really nice because West has revitalized the traditional Louis Vuitton with his sneakers, T-shirt, and bag collections (see pic below) .
Wow, seems like Kanye is steadily becoming that "artist," not just of music, but bringing arts and fashion to the masses..
KANYE WEST'S Previous Louis Vuitton Collection/Collaboration:
CONVERSE will open their Soho, New York store on November 26th, a perfect time for Black Friday; you know the place will be packed. Plus, this store caught my eye because it will feature the largest shoe display of its kind: An American flag MADE ENTIRELY FROM CHUCK TAYLOR SHOES.
Here's the press release below:
The shop will carry the largest Converse footwear offering worldwide, which by itself is already pretty impressive. The shoe wall, leather area and apparel area is also looking good. Most interesting is for sure the customization section, where you will be able to give Converse sneakers your own personal touch.
“The store’s design features speak directly to Converse’s distinct sport and rock ‘n roll heritage. Converse worked with New York based architecture firm Jennifer Carpenter Architect to preserve as much of the original details of the 110 year old building as possible. The single floor retail space is approximately 7,000 square feet using several reclaimed and natural elements to create a vintage inspired feel. From old gymnasium bleachers and recycled wood flooring to re-used Brooklyn factory parts and iconic New York City imagery, all in-store elements blend to create authentic design details. Tying back to the brand’s 102 year old American heritage, a 13-foot by 35-foot American flag made from 648 pairs of red, white and blue Chuck Taylor All Star shoes will welcome visitors and can be seen through the storefront window. Taking center stage of the space and the first of its kind is a 40-foot wall featuring an expansive Chuck Taylor All Star footwear collection. White tiled walls throughout the space pay homage to the New York City subway, creating a unique backdrop for the new denim collection, which features 24 styles for women and men.”
NICE HUH?
Think of that shoe display... The CONVERSE Wonder Of The World ... Or could anybody break this record?
WHAAAAAAAAAT IIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSS THHHHHHHHHHHIIIIISSSSSS???!!!! This local 10-year-old boy, I'm not sure from where exactly, was featured on Mediattakeout.com with a brand new hairstyle. It is NO PRANK; it's an ACTUAL hairstyle!! It's a partial weave that this boy wanted so much that his momma gave in to have this shot-down...this.... OH DEAR LORD!!! No... THIS IS LIKE A BAD DREAM...
Hello all, it's me again speaking to you from the suburbs of Detroit. I'm doing a "fly-by" right now, and I was browsing on my laptop when I came across Jaden Smith. If you scroll down about 2 posts, you will see that I had a post about Willow Smith; she's a fashionista, and so is her big brother.
Jaden Smith was seen at the American Music Awards with this great look (actually looked better than his sister). He was seen wearing an Atlanta Falcons cap, Jimi Hendrix tee, distressed leather studded vest, "wax?" jeans, and Supra Skytop 2 sneakers ($125).
This is a baaaaaad style (meaning nice-looking, great look, something that I'll actually wear) and Jaden sure rocked his gear well; all the "Jadens" do anyway (I do too, but there's an "I" in my name "Jaiden" *lol* . Wear this swagg-ful outfit on a night out with friends or at a concert.
Willow Smith, daughter of famous movie stars/producers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, is quite the fashionista already and by what she does, she certainly doesn't apologize for it. Often called "Rihanna's sidekick" or "Lil' Rihanna," Willow's style and energy far outpaces other kids her age---really.
In recent months, she has done outrageous things to her hair, like shave one side, then both sides of her head to sport a sideswept mohawk. She would also rock "grown-up" clothes, Rocker-style clothes that would appeal to the likes of British pop stars and Alexander McQueen couture.
Only nine years old and she's taking the Internet and media hostage with her smash hit "Whip My Hair," which was released a while back (also featured on 2010 AMA's; it still doesn't get old because the music video is so NOW, fresh and happening!
Good morning, I'm doing a quick fly-by about the American Music Awards and how I definitely noticed that the '80s era was definitely taking over the show. From start to finish, there were people from Rihanna opening the AMA with 3 amazing... well 2 amazing songs (not really feeling Love The Way You Lie Pt. 2), to Pink, Usher, and Ne-Yo setting the stage abalze with eye-popping outfits and hairdoes and mullets galore.
Just check out pics and videos from 2010 American Music Awards below:

HMMM... I smell an '80s fashion trend...comin' 2011...rollin' in the wind....
Hello and welcome back to my lil' style review. This time I'm reflecting on some of the hottest wardrobe Benjamin Bixby (Andre 3000) and Rihanna have worn. I put these two in an interesting collaboration of style because... I guess that's how my mind works sometimes LOL. But these two people have made staples in their very own way, Benjamin with his eclectic, otherworldly yet craaaaazy timeless style (as seen in his music videos) and Rihanna with her ever-evolving style, most notably her "RATED R" days.
Take a look:
The Benjamin Bixby clothing line by Andre Benjamin, a.k.a. Andre 3000, is a late 1930's inspired line drawn from old collegefootball documentaries. The collection consists of 70 pieces that was released at Barney's NY for Fall 2008. Due to recession, clothing production for 2009-2011 has been cancelled until further notice but the clothes are still available in stores like Barney's, Bloomingdales's, and Neiman Marcus.
And... we all know who RIHANNA is! Now my role is not to talk in details about "music" but "fashion" only. Rihanna, in her 6-year-career, has belted out so many looks that it'll make your head spin. All of the looks that she has sported has caught many girls worldwide by storm. They wear everything from Rihanna's "RATED R" mohawk to her shoulder-padded dresses.
Now Rihanna is in her "LOUD" (her latest 2010 CD) days with a more island and floral approach. This new era is a deep contrast from 2009 that brought forth a dark, gothic era that kinda....ooooh....scared a little but still manage to grab attention, especially on the TREND part. Take a look at some of the pictures that I felt were solid, hott, can't-get-enough-of, from "RATED R" and "LOUD" :
"RATED R" WEAR:
In Christian Louboutins
In Viktor & Rolf
JAIDEN'S PICK: Both by Alexander Vauthier (Flamin' hott label; couldn't get enough of it!)
In BRYCE D'ANICE AIME : As seen in "HARD" music video
"LOUD" Wear:
Boyyy... I sure posted a lot but there you have it. There were so many styles to choose from but hey...it's what I got right here, for your eyes...HOTT and HAUTE COUTURE brands from around the world, coming from one guy...representing Detroit!!
Hello everyone, I caught Nelly on a fashion website with this really smooth, cool gear.
You know, you would think that most or all rappers like to wear baggy jeans, tall tees (LOL remember those?? They ain't fashion no more; it's just for BASKETBALL or lounging), and just whatever thug look.
Nelly has a great, BOSS look (i.e. "BOSS" means no need to overdo a look with gobs of jewelry and other flashy accessories) wearing almost all LOUIS VUITTON accessories.
Let's go over what he was wearing. A leather panel cardigan, denim jeans, Louis Vuitton damier canvas belt ($420) and Louis Vuitton Discovery Ankle Boots ($990).
Nelly has really evolved in his looks from the past that were, of course, rapper-like. He has lately taken on a more relaxed, mature look that takes him to a whole 'nother level beyond just the music and shows off more his true talent as businessman than rapper.
An expensive look without the gaudiness. 'LESS IS MORE' is key, people!!!
There are so many people of style in this world, but I had to make a hard choice as to who should go onto my blog posts. The reason is because THIS WEEKEND, I AM MAKING POSTS OF NOTABLE PEOPLE OF STYLE THIS YEAR. So I just picked a few people, only eight people in the mix--music artists, bloggers, models, etc.-- who really stood out:
Fonzworth Bentley & Kanye West
Benjamin Bixby (Andre 3000) & Rihanna
Joshua Kissi & Travis Gumbs of Street Etiquette
Alicia Keys & Halle Berry
Let's do a brief intro of each, along with pics of them in different outfits:
Fonzworth Bentley, former host of "From Gs to Gents," has an "OMG" contagious style I just can't stop following. The style is always spot-on. I was trying to find more pictures, but Bentley kind of went off the radar for a minute. Did the best though... see the pics and video from GIANT Magazine photo shoot below:
Kanye West
I'm not going to get into the music and all that, just straight-up fashion. Kanye West the so-called "douche bag" has been highlighting fashion blogs, print, media, and fashion shows for years now. He has a penchant for high-end clothes, collaborating with other designers, and showing off without care. His pioneering style goes far beyond just his music, and is copied by fashionistas worldwide; Kanye's style is hott, though. It's otherwordly, another realm of time, a cross between futuristic and Harlem Renaissance times. Take a look at the following pics.
GUYS, HAVE YOU ONCE OR CURRENTLY DRESS LIKE THIS? Odds are your style is straight from Kanye.
That's it for now... next "STYLE REVIEW" will be Benjamin Bixby & Rihanna.
In recent weeks, former B2K singer Omarion has been struggling in his direction of style. His choice of picking out certain items weren't too shabby, but when they came together as an outfit, it led to my "FASH, CRASH, AND BURN" posts-- TWICE.
I found Omarion today on Upscale Hype. Yay for Omarion because this outfit works a whole lot better than his other ones that have this kind of Kanye vibe to it. It doesn't look good on EVERYBODY; just Kanye and a select few. However, I'm borderline about the Louis Vuitton monogram mink scarf ($2,260). The scarf is fine to me; it's just the placement of it across his chest. Maybe it could look better as an unexpected play...on the waist.
Placing the fur scarf around the waist in place of a belt is very different but will bring much more attention to the subtlety of the gray blazer and black bowtie, while still showing off a "playful" and European side. Also, the fur scarf being placed around Omarion's waist will resonate an opera kind of vibe, like those orchestra musicians who wear those belt-thingies around their waist.
Sidebar: Another idea in using the mink scarf, but in a very stately manner rather than "playful," would be to simply take the full length of the scarf and drape it over the left shoulder; he would definitely look like he belongs in the royal court.
It (scarf on a man's waist) might look strange, but it'll get easy on the eyes. Fashion is all about adapting and trying new methods to otherwise simple materials.
I won't say too much about Louboutins because they are an item, a great Christmas gift (which may make a man's wallet nervous), and a hot commodity that even the most genteel women will fight over if it was the last color and size available at the boutique. Check 'em out, then check out some similar ones:
