Blue Ivy Carter Is the Youngest Person Ever on the Billboard Charts

Although she was only five days old, Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of music icons Jay-Z and Beyoncé, is already making and breaking records. The newborn just bested Stevie Wonder’s daughter as the youngest person to ever appear on the Billboard music charts.

While the baby was undoubtedly destined for musical greatness (or at least Willow Smith levels of talent), making the charts as an infant is quite a feat. Proud papa Jay-Z recorded and released his track “Glory” less than 48 hours after his daughter’s birth.

The song features baby Blue Ivy cooing and crying from the cradle, which is why she is credited on the song. The album debuted on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop song charts at no. 74, officially making B.I.C. — as she’s credited on the song — the youngest person ever to make the charts, according to Billboard.

The title was formerly held by Stevie Wonder’s daughter, Aisha. Wonder wrote “Isn’t She Lovely” for his then-newborn girl. The track also featured the little girl’s coos and breaths, but did not credit her for her contributions to the song.

When the oversight was rectified and the song hit the charts, Aisha was already two years old. So Blue Ivy reigns supreme, as NewsFeed is sure she will continue to do as she grows up.

THE ONLY JAIDEN Off-Color Issue: WHO RUN THE WORLD, Rihanna or Beyonce? (Excerpt from ROLLING STONES)

Read excerpt below from 'Rolling Stones Magazine'. Numbers speak for themselves: Rihanna rules while Beyonce explores laidback '4' career
Disclaimer: THE ONLY JAIDEN focuses on fashion blogging, but once in a while has 'off-topic' issues that are interesting, like this one.

Rihanna and Beyoncé
The Image Gate/Steve Granitz/WireImage

Beyoncé and Rihanna have both been recording relentlessly since they were teenagers – and have both become major worldwide pop stars on the strength of a steady flow of hits rooted in R&B and funk. Based simply on their seeming omnipresence, it would seem that both singers have had a very good 2011, but upon closer inspection, it’s clear that the two stars are at very different places in their career: While relative newcomer Rihanna, 23, is still in the process of establishing herself as a superstar with an onslaught of singles in a bid for total radio domination, record industry veteran Beyoncé, 30, is using the clout she has accumulated over the past decade to pursue a more personal vision with her most recent material.
The result? Rihanna has appeared on eight hit singles in 2011 alone, and her most recent smash, "We Found Love," has been at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, Beyoncé's 4 has been considered a commerical flop despite having sold just shy of one million copies in the United States since late June.
4 , Beyoncé's first record since dropping her father Mathew Knowles as her manager, has connected with the R&B star’s hardcore audience, but has not spawned a monster hit on the scale of, say, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," "Halo," "Irreplaceable" or "Crazy in Love." Her last major release, I Am...Sasha Fierce, is nearly triple platinum three years after its release in 2008; the album before that, 2006's B'Day, is certified triple platinum. To some extent, the commercial performance of 4 was diminished by the early, lukewarm response to the disc’s first single, "Run the World (Girls)," an aggressive tune that sampled Major Lazer’s club hit "Pon de Floor" and leaked in an unfinished form prior to its official release.
"Sometimes when songs aren't obvious hits it takes a video, a live performance, or something extra to help it connect to the audience," says Julie Pilat, Assistant Program Director and Music Director for KIIS FM and Program Director of 98.7FM. "Radio immediately supported Beyoncé, but there were really polarizing opinions from the listeners on the single. Her video, appearances and performances didn't kick in until it was too late and the song was over. 'The Best Thing I Never Had' was probably the most obvious single on the album, but it was a ballad and got released in the middle of summer."
The modest success of 4’s singles at radio may be a sign of the times, as the sound of pop has shifted drastically in favor of techno-oriented dance music over sounds rooted in hip-hop and R&B in recent years, a development that has dovetailed with Rihanna's gradual immersion in full-on club music. Though she began her career with roots in dancehall and R&B on songs like "Pon de Replay" and "Unfaithful," she has moved towards full-on house music with hits like "Don't Stop the Music" and "Only Girl (in the World)." Her biggest hits over the past year – "S&M," "Who’s That Chick" with techno producer David Guetta, "We Found Love" with Scottish dance producer Calvin Harris – have wholeheartedly embraced radio's current craze for dance music, which has been helped along by chart-toppers such as Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and Katy Perry. (The mainstream embrace of dance music also has contributed to the genre's thriving on the touring circuit, with festival-packing artists such as Deadmau5, Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia.) Much to her credit as an artist, Beyoncé has stayed true to her roots in classic R&B and is playing to her strengths, but at least in this moment, she’s out of step with prevailing trends in pop.
Rihanna’s incredible success at pop radio, outstanding digital track sales and overwhelming popularity on YouTube isn’t simply a matter of having her finger on the pulse of popular culture. It's partly the result of unflagging momentum – there has been hardly any time since Rihanna broke big with "Umbrella" in 2007 when she has not had a hit on the radio, either as a solo act or featured artist. "Kids want new material all the time," Jay Brown, Rihanna's manager since she was a teenager, recently told the BBC. "I think you become disposable when you put out an album every three years." This philosophy goes against the grain of years of conventional wisdom cautioning artists against flooding the market with singles, but the results are undeniable: Even when Rihanna drops a single that doesn't quite connect with a larger audience, such as "Russian Roulette" or "Man Down," there has always been a monster hit like "We Found Love" just around the corner, so she always seems like a hot commodity.

EPIC FACTOR: WIllow Smith's New "21st Century Girl" Music Video

It's out now, KIDS!!!

WILLOW SMITH released her newest video, and it's rocking YouTube and the media up. I must call it an EPIC FACTOR because of the clever "storyline" of the video. It starts off with Cicely Tyson planting elements of WILLOW into the deserted ground and watching her come to life with a rumble, something straight out of a sci-fi movie, the Mummy, one of those...

Then the scene changes to all WILLOW in her fun style, running with wolves (thank God she's okay) and dancing in the desert while her surroundings slowly turn into a cityscape; she proves in this segment that she's a "21st Century Girl."

It then ends with WILLOW passing on the "torch" to a baby. Clever thinking!! Great job for the executive producers WILL and JADA Smith!!

This 10 year old girl is gonna be knocking down the VETERANS OF MUSIC very soon!!!

Jaiden's Spotlight on DETROIT: Recording Artist T.R.A.I.N

I'd like to introduce Detroiters and the world to T.R.A.I.N . He is an accomplished songwriter who turns the table on the whole rap game by rapping contrary to your norm favs that are on your MP3 or iPod. It's more like rapping about a real-life experience and PROVIDENCE.

T.R.A.I.N released his OFFICIAL PROMO VIDEO above. Be blown away!! I had the pleasure of assisting him with setting up his blog. And that's not the end of it; there's more COLLABO to come!!

You know about them UNDERDOGS, like me...like T.R.A.I.N, just you wait! With enough determination, faith, and hard work, we're TOP OF THE BILLBOARD CHARTS and MAGAZINE SPREADS and INTERVIEWS!!

Check the BIO:

In today’s world of hip-hop, it is very rare to find an artist who brings passion, authenticity, and positive music to the table. DetRapper/Songwriter T.R.A.I.N (short for Teaching, Reaching, And Instructing Nations) embodies all of these characteristics effortlessly.

Coming from an area severely stricken with the effects of the recession, crippled by changes within the auto industry, and haunted by the ghosts of the Motown he refused to let these be obstacles hindering his success. T.R.A.I.N has never been one to let anything stop his progress. This was evident during his high school football days when he was initially given his name.

Attracted to music at an early age, he began honing his rap skills at 13. T.R.A.I.N describes his style as Unorthodox REALity Music. A term he originated to set himself apart from what he saw as the stereotypes of rap music. As long as he allows nothing in the way of his tracks, the sky is the limit for T.R.A.I.N !

Blige in this hott, hott, hott BALMAIN Damaged Jeans Biker Jacket for $3,955. BALMAIN is real popular and sought-after for that whole "accentuated shoulders" thing, astronomical price, and extreme exclusivity (well now that it's more popular, BALMAIN just gotta make more).

Look at the attention to detail and note that there are no "faux" materials to make up the jacket. That's REAL SILVER and GOLD you're looking at.

She was also wearing a Hermes belt for $585. She got on the 5-STAR brands... MAAANNN...

A Crazy-Fashionable NICKI MINAJ & Crew Gets in Trouble w/ Buckingham Palace!

As Nicki Minaj continues her promo before her "Pink Friday" tour and doing promos in London (before heading back to NYC for an SNL performance, she apparently got into a lil' trouble with Buckingham Palace because she and her crew wanted to get a picture by the palace, and the Buckingham police wasn't having that mess.. especially when the NICKI-VAN stopped near the middle of the road!!

But hey, she calmly complied, colors and all (she sure looked fashionable with the jacket and Rihanna "Rated R" pants, and LOLLIPOP shoes *LoL*), as she stepped back into her NICKI-VAN as her London press trip was drawing near to a close. Check out more pics of our "Right Thru Me" rapper having fun in the UK.

KANYE Hems Up On The Media; Rants On Twitter!

All Kanye wants to do is be number 1. He just can't see to stand the sight of someone at the top of the rung. Britney had a song that reached #1 recently, and Kanye joked that his and Jay-Z's song was still the best of all time. Britney's fans and the media hemmed up on Kanye, and Kanye HEMMMMMMED right back via Twitter:

Just saw that MSNBC said I tried to start a twitter war with Brittany. This s**t takes the air out my lungs sometimes from blogs to news reports… enough already!!! All I do is focus on my work. There’s a new lie everyday… a new media spin… I never got a watch with my face on it!!! A company tried to give that to me 9 yrs ago!
I’m one of the most considerate people in real life. Maybe over considerate. Over caring. Overly real. There is no astronaut training for celebrity… even though this whole life is so outer space! I was actually surprised that a record as raw as H*A*M could make it to #2 on Itunes. How can u “let” someone be number one??!! That was the whole joke!!! I know intelligent people know this so bear with me. When I said the comment about Brittney I was giving her props for being #1 not dissing her at all! But stop making it seem that my aim is to hurt or down people! That’s just not my style!
As pop stars we’re all in this s**t together! We on the inside of the TV! If the media wants to make a story … just say I have atrocious spelling and terrible grammar…
If you don’t give em a story they just make one up. I’m just trying to focus & stay creative! Keep bringing dope s**t to the world! Once again thank you to all my fans who made MBDTF certified platinum!
You all give me the power and I never take it for granted. I am an extension of my listeners. I won’t always say the right thing but my heart is always in the right place.

Was Kanye being sincere about his thoughts?
(Oh by the way, Kanye's outfit looks nice; I would rock it..)

WILLOW SMITH's Latest Photo Shoot & Talks of Releasing More Music

This little girl... SMH... I'm still like, "she's 9 YEARS OLD?!!" All I wanted to do was ride my bike and eat junk food when I was 9 years old. Anyway, she did her latest photo shoot for Vanity Fair (YEAH... the VANITY FAIR) and she talked about how great it was to have Jay-Z for a boss, and more. Here's what she said:

“It is very cool, because Jay really welcomes me and makes me feel like the record label is a place where I can have fun and talk about my career. He and his people make me feel like I’m a part of something. And I love Beyoncé — she’s awesome!”

She's 9!!!!!! And she gets to chill all day with Beyonce, and Beyonce's not even her momma! *LOL SMH* But heyy... WILLOW, the instant star of "Whip My Hair," will release more music soon, and has an album coming out in March. She has already been nominated for 2 NAACP awards.

KELLY ROWLAND's Hott 2011 Photo Shoot!

Kelly Rowland in Chanel T-shirt and leopard peeptoe Louboutins

I'm a person of fashion (FASHIONISTA) and I know good style when I see it. I also do photo shoots and I understand what it takes to look the best, practice poses, and "make love to the camera" or challenge the camera whenever necessary. I was checking out one of my fav sites, MediaTakeout, and I found Kelly Rowland's beautiful glam shots taken by photographer Robert Echtor.

In a photo shoot of this magnitude of sensuality without vulgarity, all you can do is stare. No need for more talking. She looks extraordinarily beautiful, doesn't she?

(Whoa, she puttin' it out there...)

KANYE WEST Photo Shoot With I-D Magazine

Kanye West, again, is in one of my posts. I comment on him often not for his music--my niche is fashion--but for his style sense. It's so cool, he's in another realm in terms of thinking about style, how to make pieces flow and pop, draw attention at the same time. It is simply ART in fashion form. I just like it.

West is wearing a Tom Ford dinner jacket and slippers, Dior Homme wax jeans, and jewelry by Erickson Beamon.

I found his photo shoot on UpscaleHype. Check out some of his pics:

Willow Smith: A Budding Fashionista

Willow Smith, daughter of famous movie stars/producers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, is quite the fashionista already and by what she does, she certainly doesn't apologize for it. Often called "Rihanna's sidekick" or "Lil' Rihanna," Willow's style and energy far outpaces other kids her age---really.

In recent months, she has done outrageous things to her hair, like shave one side, then both sides of her head to sport a sideswept mohawk. She would also rock "grown-up" clothes, Rocker-style clothes that would appeal to the likes of British pop stars and Alexander McQueen couture.

Only nine years old and she's taking the Internet and media hostage with her smash hit "Whip My Hair," which was released a while back (also featured on 2010 AMA's; it still doesn't get old because the music video is so NOW, fresh and happening!

Check out pics and Willow's music video:

'80s Fashion Rules 2010 American Music Awards

Good morning, I'm doing a quick fly-by about the American Music Awards and how I definitely noticed that the '80s era was definitely taking over the show. From start to finish, there were people from Rihanna opening the AMA with 3 amazing... well 2 amazing songs (not really feeling Love The Way You Lie Pt. 2), to Pink, Usher, and Ne-Yo setting the stage abalze with eye-popping outfits and hairdoes and mullets galore.

Just check out pics and videos from 2010 American Music Awards below:

Style: Rihanna & Benjamin Bixby

Rihanna 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9Hello and welcome back to my lil' style review. This time I'm reflecting on some of the hottest wardrobe Benjamin Bixby (Andre 3000) and Rihanna have worn. I put these two in an interesting collaboration of style because... I guess that's how my mind works sometimes LOL. But these two people have made staples in their very own way, Benjamin with his eclectic, otherworldly yet craaaaazy timeless style (as seen in his music videos) and Rihanna with her ever-evolving style, most notably her "RATED R" days.

Take a look:

The Benjamin Bixby clothing line by Andre Benjamin, a.k.a. Andre 3000, is a late 1930's inspired line drawn from old college football documentaries. The collection consists of 70 pieces that was released at Barney's NY for Fall 2008. Due to recession, clothing production for 2009-2011 has been cancelled until further notice but the clothes are still available in stores like Barney's, Bloomingdales's, and Neiman Marcus.

And... we all know who RIHANNA is! Now my role is not to talk in details about "music" but "fashion" only. Rihanna, in her 6-year-career, has belted out so many looks that it'll make your head spin. All of the looks that she has sported has caught many girls worldwide by storm. They wear everything from Rihanna's "RATED R" mohawk to her shoulder-padded dresses.

Now Rihanna is in her "LOUD" (her latest 2010 CD) days with a more island and floral approach. This new era is a deep contrast from 2009 that brought forth a dark, gothic era that kinda....ooooh....scared a little but still manage to grab attention, especially on the TREND part. Take a look at some of the pictures that I felt were solid, hott, can't-get-enough-of, from "RATED R" and "LOUD" :

"RATED R" WEAR:

In Christian Louboutins

In Viktor & Rolf

JAIDEN'S PICK: Both by Alexander Vauthier (Flamin' hott label; couldn't get enough of it!)

In BRYCE D'ANICE AIME : As seen in "HARD" music video

"LOUD" Wear:

The lady in red: Rihanna's curly red hair drew a lot of attention.

Boyyy... I sure posted a lot but there you have it. There were so many styles to choose from but hey...it's what I got right here, for your eyes...HOTT and HAUTE COUTURE brands from around the world, coming from one guy...representing Detroit!!

NELLY Keeps It Classy With Louis Vuitton

Hello everyone, I caught Nelly on a fashion website with this really smooth, cool gear.

You know, you would think that most or all rappers like to wear baggy jeans, tall tees (LOL remember those?? They ain't fashion no more; it's just for BASKETBALL or lounging), and just whatever thug look.

Nelly has a great, BOSS look (i.e. "BOSS" means no need to overdo a look with gobs of jewelry and other flashy accessories) wearing almost all LOUIS VUITTON accessories.

Let's go over what he was wearing. A leather panel cardigan, denim jeans, Louis Vuitton damier canvas belt ($420) and Louis Vuitton Discovery Ankle Boots ($990).

Nelly has really evolved in his looks from the past that were, of course, rapper-like. He has lately taken on a more relaxed, mature look that takes him to a whole 'nother level beyond just the music and shows off more his true talent as businessman than rapper.

An expensive look without the gaudiness. 'LESS IS MORE' is key, people!!!

Gospel Artists With Style

Hello everyone. I wanted you to check out some great gospel music artists who have distinguished style in the music industry. There are many of them singing the Good News all across our great nation and overseas and some featured in pics down below. I don't know if some of you noticed, but people of Gospel tend to have a "hot-to-the-touch," unmatched style and they wear it with no problem, and that's VERY DIFFERENT from secular music, whereas people in that sector just have some...WHAT ARE YOU WEARING??!! Anyway, view below..

There are, again, many more gospel artists with excellent fashion sense. But check each of these artists out; you'll see what I'm talking about.

RIHANNA Does It Again With Fashion

Colourful costume: The singer wore an unusual ensemble on stageDespite what some people may say about what her supposed religious whatever-it-is, Illuminati-something (I'm not getting into this mess, just the fashion bit), I've always watched and admittedly sometimes drooled Rihanna's ever-changing sexy style. She is like the epitome of fashion sense, complete range, and FREEDOM. She just commands it.

Don't think so? Look at the many girls around America and overseas. They rock the "SHAVED HAIRDO" or the "Rihanna" mohawk. Whatever she does, they do. It's a trend, a crazy trend the girls just can't seem to get enough of. Now, since the black girls have cut their hair to be like RIHANNA (knowing BLACK GIRL HAIR don't grow back fast), sly girl switches it up to red-hot hair; this time changes it a lot. It grew 2 feet overnight to LOOOOOONG RED HAIR LoL. Gotta love it.

Rihanna is seen wearing this eye-catching shoulder-padded jacket that reminisces the heydays of hip-hop MTV '80s, black bodice and "yellow underwear" *lol* and vicious black boots. Look at 'em legs...

She was performing "What's My Name" for MTV's SEVEN, a new show following 7 performers, and also performing as part of promotion of her newest album. Her album LOUD comes out today, November 16th.

Whatever your style is, ladies, wear it PROUD and wear it WELL! Don't let the clothes 'make' you; YOU 'make' the clothes with your sheer swag, your confidence no matter what shape and size you are, and ROCK IT OUT... LOUD!!!!

Rihanna Oozes Fashion Craze in Latest Video

Just swung this post in as soon as I saw one of the music videos of Rihanna's upcoming album "LOUD." This music video, "What's My Name," is a steamy, flirty, lovey-dovey duet with Rihanna and Drake. FYI, this song rocketed from #60 to #1 song on the Billboard charts. I bet Drake is thrilled for this moment with Rihanna since he actually REALLY wanted her.

Rihanna is very LOUD walking down the streets of New York in such a crazy outfit that dares to attract attention. It's commanding, wacky, in-your-face, WOW!! Topped off with flowing red locks, Rihanna trots around town and cozies up in an apartment with Drake, a NIIIICE couples' moment.

Check out the music video "What's My Name" below. It's a real nice video; nice to see somebody in bright and good spirits.

See you in the next post. Comment!! Rate!! I'm talking about my site and how I'm doing so far!! Representin' Detroit with fashion!
