Celebrities’ Real Names

Numerous celebrities have very unremarkable real names. A surprising number of them wanted to sound a little cooler, so they have sought and opted catchy pseudonym for the sake of show business. Check out these celebrities who changed their birth-given names.

Steven Tyler, born Steven Victor Tallarico, is best known as the lead singer of rock ban Aerosmith. The singer was mostly involved with drug rehabilitation, sobriety for 12 years, a relapse with prescription painkillers in the late 2000s. The name Tyler became a household name after his remarkable comeback in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Elizabeth Grant, better known by her stage name Lana Del Rey, has been described as a “self-styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra.”

The “Super Bowl XLVI” came to an end on Sunday night, February 5, 2012 with the New York Giants winning over the New England Patriots by a score of 21-17. This year game, which was played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, was kicked off in style as the American idol Kelly Clarkson hit the stage to deliver a flawless rendition of the National Anthem. Clarkson was also joined by country couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton singing a duet of "America the Beautiful." Katy Perry also arrived at the game to catch the action. She was one among a lot of famous stars who turn up on the grounds to take part in the match between the NFL's last two remaining teams.

Katy Perry 2012: Singer Spotted With Blue Hair and Blue Ring At LAX Airport (Pictures)

On Tuesday afternoon, January 17, the famous pop singer Katy Perry was reported to leave Los Angeles for Singapore. Katy Perry showed off her new blue hair donning a super short Missioni dress paired with her grey heels on the way to LAX airport.

Just before New Year, on December 30, 2011, Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand split up after only one year of marriage. This is the second time Katy Perry has been seen in public after divorce.

Katy Perry showed off her legs in a Missioni short dress and a pair of grey high heels.

In order to conceal her identity, the “California Gurls” singer wore a floppy black hat and superstar sunglasses.

This is the second time Katy Perry has been snapped by paparazzi in the wake of last month’s divorce from her husband Russell Brand.

Last week, Katy Perry debut her new blue hair while filming for Adidas commercial in Los Angeles. Many people thought that her blue hair reflected her emotion after divorce.

Just before New Year, Katy Perry and Russell Brand announced their split-up after 14-month marriage. There were rumors that Katy and Russell went to Los Angeles to discuss their divorce but it seemed they did not meet each other.

Katy Perry was spotted without her wedding ring. She wore a blue ring on her wedding finger instead.

Although Katy Perry did not attend the 2012 People’s Choice Awards held at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on January 12, the 28-year-old singer received 5 awards including Favorite Song of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Tour Headliner, Favorite TV Guest Star and Favorite Female Artist.

China Bans Beyonce and Kanye West

Beyoncé's track is one of a hundred on a new list of banned songs released by the Chinese Ministry of Culture on Friday.

Beyoncé's Run the World, VMAs, Best Choreography, winner, has been banned in China.

Beyoncé wasn't the only VMA winner to have a song banned; Katy Perry had E.T banned, her collaboration with Kanye West which won Best Collaboration and Best Special Effects. Perry's Last Friday Night was also banned.

China has been regulating music on the internet and beyond for the past couple of years. With the communist government involved in everything that the citizens do, it’s only the next step in the process for the Ministry of Culture department to be involved with what goes on musically with their people.

The Chinese Ministry says that these bans are not related to content, but instead reflect a clamp down on internet music providers who are providing access to songs not submitted to the government for review or censorship. In a statement the Ministry said: "Our targets this time are online music products that we have not registered or reviewed. They don't necessarily contain illegal content."

Weibo, a Chinese alternative to Twitter (as Twitter is banned in China), has been in a flurry over the bans. One user, KeyboardChan, summed things up nicely "The most ridiculous pick has got to be Backstreet Boy's 'I Want It That Way' from 1999. I have been singing it at karaoke for 12 years - have I been a cultural terrorist for that long?"

Beyonce’s Pregnancy May Push Back ‘A Star Is Born’

The VMAs belonged to Beyonce and Jay-Z, not only for their own respective performances, but for the announcement they are expecting their first child.

Beyonce revealed her baby bump on the VMA black carpet before debuting it during her live performance.

According to MTV News, Beyonce and Jay-Z, real name, Shawn Carter, found the announcement was freeing because it was hard to keep the big news a secret.

After Beyonce finished her performance, the 29-year-old was greeted by hugs and well-wishers backstage. There, the singer said, “I’m free. We’re all free.”

Soon enough she was joined by her husband, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and Kanye West, who couldn’t wait to congratulate Beyonce with a hug.

Meanwhile... *Deadline.com’s Nikki Finke is reporting that Beyonce’s pregnancy may affect production on her upcoming film — ironically, a remake of “A Star is Born.”

We’ve learned that Warner Bros was hoping to start production on Clint Eastwood’s musical remake of A Star Is Born as early as February 2012.

But now insiders tell us it “could push” because Beyoncé announced her pregnancy at MTV’s VMAs.

That will give the studio more time to settle on a male co-star for the singer/actress since Eastwood’s first choice, Leonardo DiCaprio, isn’t doing the pic.

The project, which has been at WB for several years, has generated talk of pairing Beyoncé with Will Smith and with Christian Bale and with lots of other leading men. Beyoncé and Jay-Z wed in April 2008: he’s a good actor so I say give him the role.

Back to the fact that Beyonce's pregnant! And her fans aren't the only ones excited like they're the ones about to give birth too. Beyonce & Jay-Z's celebrity friends have been dishing out the congrats, since Sunday.
