Here's what I like about this guy: New Orleans native FRANK OCEAN does not want to be put into a box. In music or fashion. In such a cookie-cutter industry, Frank Ocean says he cringes at the label R&B or even HIP-HOP (He actually feels better that he was listed under 'Bluegrass'). His music is just MUSIC, simply doing what he loves to do, not trying to impress anybody.
That mindset got him on the fast track to musical success. But we all know I'm not here for the musical part but for the FASHION.
So check out FRANK OCEAN in his latest photo shoot for L'Umo Vogue Magazine. The pictures itself are not COOKIE CUTTER or high fashion; it oozes creativity and the essence of FRANK OCEAN. Like the above picture, that vintage green velvet suit really speaks to me in an unspoken fashion language. It says ONE-OF-A-KIND, WITHOUT TIME, SOMBER, DEBONAIRE, THAT JAZZ ERA...
See more pics and an excerpt of what Frank says in the fashion magazine:
On changing his name from Christopher “Lonny” Breaux (his government) to Frank Ocean
“It was like a middle finger to my slave name”
The most empowering thing he did this year…
Buy a car in cash and got rid of the ole car note

On his fast rise to fame.
